Beijing China Nonferrous Metal Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd., established on June 4 1999, is a limited liability company controlled by China Nonferrous Metal Construction Group Co. Ltd. With an original registered capital of RMB 10 million and a newly increased registered capital of RMB 15 million in March 2002, its current registered capital has reached RMB 25 million, among which China Nonferrous Metal Construction Group Co. Ltd. holds 71.2% of its shares, amounting to RMB 17.8 million while other 44 natural persons hold 28.8% of its shares, amounting to RMB 7.2 million. Its major business includes construction and engineering service of contracted projects. In April 2002, the company obtained a safety Production and Quality Control Certificate issued by Beijing Municipal Economic Committee and at the same time successfully passed the ISO9000: 2000 edition international quality control system authentication, which has raised the production and quality control of the Company up to a new level. In June 2002, the Company got a Construction Business Qualification Certificate issued by Beijing Municipal Construction Committee, which gives the company Grade-B qualifications in general contracting for smelting, civil construction and electromechanical equipment installation projects. It can contract smelting and civil construction projects with a contract price of no more than RMB 125 million, and electromechanical equipment installation projects with a total investment of no more than RMB 30 million. In November 2002, the company obtained a Certificate of Honoring Contracts and Standing by Reputation issued by Beijing Municipal Industrial and Commercial Administration Bureau, which further reaffirmed the credibility of the Company’s operation. The company has 1347 staff workers and 315 supervisory technical personnel, of whom 35 have senior professional titles and 184 have semi-senior professional titles. Many of the technical personnel and staff of the Company come from state-owned large enterprises and were involved in the construction of many key national engineering projects as well as introduced projects, such as Northwest Liancheng Aluminum Plant, Lanzhou Carbon Plant, Qinghai Minhe Magnesium Plant, Jiangxi Dexing Copper Mine, Yongping Copper Mine, Guixi Smeltery, Guixi Electric Power Plant, Anhui Hefei Steel Works, Maanshan Steel Works, the second-phase project of Fujian Qiangzhou Paper Mill (Finish equipment), Fuzhou Mawel Steel Works (British equipment), Second Qingdao Brewery, Second Qingdao Cotton Mill and Steel-Melting Project of Beijing Capital Steel Group and so on.
